Families & private wealth · Care options for a parent
Brothers and sisters see the same facts differently, and the parent’s voice is often missing.
A gentle, independent appraisal of care options, centred on what the parent wants, shared equally with the whole family.
§ 01The evaluation question
What the evaluator is asked.
“Which care options best respect our parent’s own wishes and needs, at a cost the family can sustain, and what specialist input is needed before deciding?”
(The question)
Commissioned by. Family members together, with the parent
When. Before a care decision
Usual protocol. A · Joint-party evaluation
§ 02Specialist mandate required
A general neutral credential is not enough here.
Why
Regulated or specialist ground
The parent’s own wishes and legal decision-making authority are central, and the parent is heard. Questions of capacity, health, safeguarding or social care need qualified specialists; the evaluation organises the options, it does not assess the person.
What the scope review checks
- The specialist qualification or licence the question requires
- Whether a statutory or regulated process must be used instead
- Who must be heard, and their procedural rights
- What the evaluation will expressly not cover
§ 03What is examined
The evidence, and the output.
The evidence
Material reviewed, and what was not available, is always stated.
- The parent’s needs and wishes
- Options and their costs
- Each family member’s capacity
- Legal powers in place
A shared options summary
A reasoned view. The decision stays with you.
- It will not: medical assessment, which belongs to clinicians
§ 04Depth and time
Usually: Clarity DeepView™.
A full twelve-part INE™ report. Typical time: One to two weeks.
§ 05Your version
Every case is different. Frame yours.
