Shared principles, local law
Neutrality means the same everywhere; how a role is used depends on local law. A Neutral working across borders checks the law of the seat, the place of performance and the parties’ home jurisdictions.
Enforceability
Where a binding outcome may need enforcement abroad, the Neutral explains the route: for international mediated settlements, the Singapore Convention where it applies; for arbitral awards, the New York Convention in its contracting states.
Language and culture
Participants may use their own language. Interpreters are independent and bound by confidentiality. The Neutral adapts the process to cultural expectations without compromising fairness.
Co-Neutrals
Where useful, two Neutrals from different jurisdictions or disciplines may work together, with roles and decision rules agreed in the mandate.
