General Experience
I am a partner in the Dispute Resolution Team of Laytons LLP where I handle a wide range of complex and high-value commercial arbitration and litigation, often involving multi-jurisdictional issues.
I am an experienced mediator accredited by the Civil Mediation Council and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and have over 30 years’ experience of Arbitration and Mediation, both as counsel and as arbitrator and mediator.
Some of my most notable recent arbitrations have involved: An arbitration between two middle eastern parties in respect of a contract for the distribution of high value medical equipment to Saudi Arabia: A dispute in respect of the quality of steel supplied by a Korean steel producer to a Polish roofing manufacturer: A construction dispute in relation to a redevelopment of a property in Knightsbridge, London: A dispute between a Chilean manufacturer of coke and an importer from Italy:
I have considerable experience as a mediator and I believe that there are very few disputes which are not capable of resolution by the use of mediation. I have been effective at bringing the parties to the point where they feel they can reach accord.
I accept appointments as arbitrator and as mediator.
